Pastor Chris Staub
Pastor and Mrs. Staub have ministered at Silvery Lane Baptist Church for over thirty years. They have four grown children and three grandchildren. Pastor Staub was saved at an early age and raised in a Christian home. After two successful ministries as Youth and Music director in Burleson, Texas and as an Associate Pastor in Warren, Michigan, he was called to Silvery Lane in 1981. From that time until now, Pastor Staub has a vision of reaching Dearborn Heights and the surrounding area through soul-winning and discipleship. He instituted a regular visitation for adults, teens, and bus ministry routes. Pastor Staub has also involved the church in covering the area door to door systematically.
In a changing climate of worship, Pastor Staub maintains what many would call a vibrant traditional service with spirited traditional hymns. Visitors often comment on how good it is to hear the “old hymns” sung with such fervor. Special numbers and choirs sing with a spirit of holiness and grace.
Dearborn Heights and the surrounding area are home to a variety of nationalities: Native Michiganders, Southerners, Middle Eastern, Indian, Latin, European, and Oriental. Pastor works to reach all groups; this is reflected in the congregation. Silvery Lane Baptist has a strong mission ministry. The adults and teens have gone on several foreign mission trips abroad.
Pastor Staub has also instituted a real prayer ministry and Bible Study on Wednesday for adults and teens. It is encouraging to hear the answers to prayer every Wednesday. He has an excellent grasp of the scriptures and teaches with understanding. Folks comment that they can understand the old King James Bible and appreciate the practical application to everyday living.
