Pastor Chris Staub
Pastor and Mrs. Staub have ministered at Silvery Lane Baptist Church since July 1981. They have four grown children and five grandchildren. Pastor Staub was saved at an early age and raised in a Christian home. After two successful ministries as Youth and Music director in Burleson, Texas and as Associate Pastor in Warren, Michigan; he was called as Pastor of Silvery Lane. From that time until now, Pastor Staub has a vision of reaching Dearborn Heights and the surrounding area through soul-winning and discipleship. He instituted a regular visitation for adults, teens, and bus ministry routes. Pastor Staub has also involved the church in covering the area door to door systematically.
In a changing climate of worship, Pastor Staub maintains what many would call a vibrant traditional service with spirited gospel hymns and songs. Visitors often comment on how good it is to hear the “old hymns” sung with such fervor. Special numbers and choirs sing with a spirit of holiness and grace.
Dearborn Heights and the surrounding area are home to a variety of nationalities: Native Michiganders, Southerners, various Middle Eastern groups, Indian, Latin, European, and Asian populations. Pastor Staub’s vision is to continue to focus on reaching a diverse population, reflected in a multicultural congregation. Silvery Lane Baptist has a strong mission program supporting over forty missionaries and mission projects.
Pastor Staub encourages a real prayer ministry and Bible Study on Wednesday nights. It is uplifting to hear the answers to prayer each week. He has an excellent grasp of the Scriptures and teaches with understanding. Folks comment that they can understand the King James Bible and appreciate its practical application to everyday living.
